A Bit about the Art: Empress Matilda, King Henry I's only surviving legitimate child. Promised the throne of England by her father and his nobles, betrayed by her 2nd cousin Stephen of Blois. However, she didn't go down quietly & came within inches of becoming England's first Queen in her own right. Definitely, a Lady who deserves to be heard about. (This is my artistic interpretation of what she might have looked like)
